Upcoming Projects in the City

(Click on the project name for a complete project description.)

See the PLANNING DEPARTMENT'S latest project update list for a quick reference and update of current projects.

Poseidon Desalination Facility -  The City Council approved the CUP.  A group has petitioned the Coastal Commission to appeal that decision.  Poseidon next has to go in front of other jurisdictions such as the Coastal Commission.  Hopefully, the Coastal Commission will see the problems associated with this project a little better than our City Council.  Stay tuned to new developments.

Pacific City - Rough grading is expected to begin in soon after all remediation is complete.  The owner is currently evaluating final design of the commercial portion of the project, including the future hotel. It has been decided that a pedestrian bridge similar to the bridge in front of the Hyatt will be built as part of this project also.

Newland Street Residential - (Newland at Hamilton)  This proposed project consists of 204 multi-family residential units and a two acre park on the former CENCO site.  The developer has completed their approvals and zoning changes.  The next step will be the plan check process and then construction.
